Empowering Small Businesses and Their Communities
America’s small businesses are in crisis. Once the backbone of local economies and community life, many are now struggling to survive in a market dominated by massive corporations. These corporations often operate without strong ties to their communities, sourcing goods and services overseas while offering little investment in local jobs or wages. Small businesses that are rooted in values, relationships, and community deserve a fighting chance to thrive.
At the same time, many of our country’s most willing and capable individuals - veterans, people with disabilities, and the neurodivergent - remain sidelined in the workforce. They too want the opportunity to contribute, earn, and grow, but face systemic barriers to participation in both local and national economies.
Mutual Economic Inclusion (MEI) exists to bridge these gaps. It brings together small businesses and historically excluded populations to pursue a shared vision: a more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous American economy. By supporting small businesses and expanding the workforce through economic inclusion, MEI fosters mutual benefit for employers, for individuals ready to contribute, and their community.
